Today we met a whole bunch of friends at Tiffany's to go skating. I was so excited to find out that they let strollers go around the outside of the rink. Gavin was so good. The girls were getting really good at skating by the time we had to go.

On this particular day he had managed to fall at Grandma and Grandpa's and bonk his head. Later he tripped in my room and you can see the scrape he got from landing on a drawer he had opened moments earlier. Finally he pulled his sweatshirt that was attached to a chair until the chair toppled down on top of him. Good thing we have insurance.

Over Spring Break we had the opportunity to go to Wenatchee for a few days to stay with the Allens. We had a great time. We went to Cloud 9 and played at the park by the river. It is always good to see our friends.

I know it has been a long while since I posted to our blog. As many of you may know, I was in a car accident on November 30th. I ended up eventually missing 2 months of work in order to let my back and neck heal. I have been back to work for 3 weeks now. Gavin started crawling just as I was ready to go back to work. God is good. He knew what I could handle. Many people from the church helped out while I was recovering. My mom was my shadow for two months because I was unable to hold Gavin or do basically anything. Edwin was an awesome help and whipped the girls into shape. I am so thankful that I am getting back to normal. I am still going to physical therapy twice a week and have aches and pains but feel grateful to be on the road to recovery.

In case you hadn't heard. Our horse lover took a dive off the horse while riding at the fairgrounds. The medics were called, as Grandpa was concerned with the gash on her forehead. They cleaned her up and luckily I was able to leave school early. She seemed to be fine until about 2 hours later when Aliyah barely bumped her arm and she began crying. I turned her wrist over to find her arm bruised and swollen. So, off to the doctor we went. She had to wear the cast for four weeks. Boy did it get stinky. Edwin wrote "Take me off, I stink" on her cast before it was taken off. Thankfully she is as good as new and would love to ride again as soon as possible.

We had a great time on our family vacation to Seaside. We actually ended up staying an extra night. The weather was awesome. The girls loved the beach. Aliyah had so much fun jumping the waves. I finally had to put a life jacket on her because she was making me so nervous.

My nephew Isaac Nathan Stol was born on July 25th. We are so happy to have another boy in the family. Great job Hans and Nicole. Gavin and Isaac are going to be great friends.

Gavin is such a good boy. He is such a sleepy head. Unfortunately he wakes up with boogers in his eyes. The doctor said that 1 out of 10 babies have clogged tear ducts. He should grow out of it any day now. At night we keep going back and forth with the bassinet and our bed. He is such a little grunter. Aliyah loves to hold Gavin like we do. One night I went upstairs to check on something and came down to find her on the couch with Gavin laying on her chest. We are so happy to have such a cute and healthy boy!

The girls are really enjoying their little brother. He doesn't seem to mind all of the attention from the girls. The day that I was in labor with Gavin, Aliyah was swinging with her 20 month old cousin Haley. Haley started to slip and Aliyah let go of one side of the swing to catch Haley. The result was that they both slipped. Aliyah his her head on the grass and got the biggest goose egg I have ever seen. 6 days later Aliyah now has 2 black eyes. She says she feels fine. Not the best timing for family photos with the new baby. I think we will attempt to bathe Gavin today. I'll try to post pictures soon. It is so fun having a son. He is a good sleeper going 4 hours between feedings at night.

Gavin Daniel Comstock was born on June 18th at 7:27pm. He weighed 7lbs 1oz and was 19 inches long. We were able to bring him home last night. He is a precious baby. I am posting a few pictures today, but I still need to get most of the great pictures from my mom and sister's camera before I post again.

I can't believe Aliyah is six already. She is such a big girl. It is hard to believe Kindergarten in almost over. When asked if she wanted a small party at a special place or a bigger party at our house she wanted more people to come and opted for our house. She's a social butterfly. We are looking forward to her spring play coming up in May. She already knows all of the words to the songs. The Kids Worship team preformed at Easter Eggstravaganza in the sprinkling rain. Aliyah and Elyse had come to help me for an hour with painting faces. I felt bad because they had missed out on games and bouncy toys because I took so long. Pastor Shawn and Pastor Joel hooked the crying pregnant lady up with free pony rides off the leash and a private bouncy session in the sanctuary for the girls. The girls enjoyed the egg hunt but didn't get any prizes.

Over Spring Break we enjoyed a fun trip to the zoo. Everyone else in Pierce County decided to go the same day. It was gorgeous. Nicole and Hans met Grandma and I at the zoo. We had all of the girls with us plus Andrea met us there with her girls. It was a lot of fun. I'm sure there will be many more zoo trips to come.

We really enjoyed our time at the ladies retreat. I ended up getting my own bed. Nobody wanted to sleep with the pregnant lady. We enjoyed an early dinner at Anthony's and a lot of fun together. After the retreat Karla, Michele, and I went shopping in Gig Harbor.

It took Aliyah about a month to get her first loose tooth out. She was not excited about our help and eventually wouldn't let us touch her mouth. She had a dentist appointment and we thought they would pull it but they said to just let it come out naturally. We had her eat lots of apples but it didn't come out as quickly as we had hoped. Her second tooth came out much faster. She just used her tongue to push it out up in Daddy's office after school one day.

On January 23rd I went in for an ultrasound. Edwin and I had been praying along with others that the baby would cooperate so that we could find out what we are having. Sure enough, within the first 3 minutes the technician printed out a very obvious photo of our baby boy. We are still a bit in shock. I guess we were beginning to believe that girls are the only sex our family can produce. Our son will be the first boy in our family in over seven years. Taylor and Parker should be very happy to have another boy on their team. I was trying to think of all of the girls in the family and decided I better name them all to get an accurate count. Hopefully I don't forget anyone. Payton, Addy, Aliyah, Jaci, Elizabeth, Elyse, Kiana, Morgan, Olivia, Haley, Torrin, Aoki, Dakota and of course Julie and Tim's baby girl due in May. Now that's a lot of girls. After the ultrasound they gave me a CD to take home. I'm going to attempt to post the pictures. Although our son was very happy to show us his gender he would not cooperate with showing us his face. I changed positions several times to get him to move but he just wouldn't cooperate. I go back in February, they want to take face measurements. Now we just have to agree on a name.

School was cancelled for two days on Nov 28th and 29th. Aliyah was so excited to play in the snow. She said it was the best day ever. After an appointment and the doctor putting in his request for a boy, Elyse began to cry. After a talk about having brothers she decided it would be okay if we could name the baby Caleb. We are so proud of Aliyah. This is her first year being able to join the kids choir at Sound Life. At first she told me that she wouldn't want any solos. But after only 2 months she auditioned to lead worship in a small group. She did such a good job singing, "You're Good Lord". Maybe next time it will be a solo. She is looking forward to singing in a small group for Christmas and being the letter "I" in a CHRISTMAS song.

Pastor Terry took a turn with Aliyah so I could get a photo. Edwin grabbed Elyse and took her for a spin. Elyse did pretty good with her skates. Last year we cheated and she used her shoes for a once around the rink.

Aliyah and Edwin enjoyed their time skating around the rink. Aliyah was getting pretty confident when our time was cut short. Next time we will have to arrive earlier. It took us a half an hour to get the right skates on. Aliyah's third pair of skates finally worked.

Kindergarten is hard work. Aliyah came home from school on her second day and crashed on the couch. She was up late the night before for her first night at Daisies. Elyse is now a Rainbow. They grow up too fast. I have a feeling this won't be the last nap for Aliyah as she adjusts to her all day schedule. When I told her next week there will be five days of school she looked at me very surprised. I don't think she realized what a normal school week will be. She's excited to start her Show and Tell on Monday.

After Aliyah's first day of school. I picked her up and brought her straight to Daddy's office so she could share her day with us. She showed us the pictures she drew to go with her writing. She drew herself swinging and wrote we hd fun. She's so smart. She really enjoyed recess and playing with Amy and Garret. She later told us that she switched her seat at the end of the day. Edwin later spoke with Mrs. Durham and said that Aliyah really did move her name and now knows she shouldn't do that anymore. Ms. Tamali (recess duty and member of Sound Life) said that Aliyah is Barbara Walters at recess and spares no details. She is getting used to kindergarted quickly.

On September 5th we went to feed the ducks at a park in downtown Puyallup. My mom said we used to go there as kids. The girls were having fun feeding the ducks and geese when mom went to get a better photo angle on a dock. On the dock she found a sign that said "Don't feed the fowls". Oops, too late. We went to the park to enjoy Aliyah's last day of summer before school.

As many of you know we sold our CRV and bought a Chrysler Town and Country van. We actually made money. Edwin agreed to let me get a new camera. So now, not only do I have a great van but a cool camera. More pictures to come, I'm sure.

Mom started the zoo escapades on her birthday. We opted to get a season pass and have made great use of it. Just ask Aliyah the scientific name for a bald eagle and you will see evidence of how often we have visited the zoo.

Aliyah attended Day Camp at Sound Life for the 2nd time. This time I volunteered in the craft room and was able to go to two of the field trips. We went to the beach and to the zoo. Elyse can't wait until next year to be able to go to day camp. Aliyah was camper of the day one day. I'm not sure if it is because she was behaving well or because her counselor was in my class in third grade.

The girls are getting quite good at riding horses. Dad says that Elyse has really good balance. It is hard to believe they are trying to sell Blessing and Dusty for younger horses.

Grandma immediately ran in and got her camera once she got passed the initial shock. Kids do the darndest things. I'm sure they will remember this for a long time. Aliyah said she went swimming in a mud puddle. Too bad I didn't pack extra clothes for them. Silly girls!

The girls started off splashing in the puddles. As soon as Grandma turned her back to talk to the neighbors the girls jumped in. Elyse told Grandma she was washing her hair.

Who needs preschool when you have a creative grandma. The girls often do art projects at Grandma's house and at home. Aliyah is also learning how to read and write. She learns well from her Leap Frog library movies. Yesterday she was writing all kinds of rhyming words: cat, fat, mat and so on. She's so smart. I think she is ready for the kindergarten challenge.

Aliyah got a cute Barbie garending set for her birthday. She is pretty good at helping out. We are still working on getting her to pull up only the weeds. The set came with an apron, gloves, a pad to sit on, a shovel, and a small rake.
